A day rate is now offered for those wishing to attend one day only. Please visit http://eiscat2013.lancs.ac.uk for more details.

Student support

The EISCAT Symposium organisers can provide support for up to 4 UK PhD students and up to 4 international (non-UK) PhD students to attend the meeting. Support will be limited to waiving the registration fee only and all other expenses must be borne by the applicant. Successful applicants must present their work at the symposium and register in the normal way. Reimbursement will take place after the meeting. The Local Organising Committee will select the successful candidates based on the quality of their abstract (1 page maximum) and the content of their short CV (1 page maximum), which should highlight any academic activities and achievements. The career stage of applicants will be taken into account. Applications are to be made by email to eiscat2013 <at> lancaster <dot> ac <dot> uk with the subject line "Student Support". The deadline for student support submissions is 31 May 2013.

Uppsala EISCAT_3D User Meeting 2013

IRF Uppsala hosted the 5th EISCAT_3D User Meeting in Uppsala, Sweden, 6th – 8th May 2013.

The focus of the meeting was on data analysis and data management requirements for the
new EISCAT_3D system. Another focal point was the discussion of meteor and space debris observations. Several of the scientific presentations were from researcher that are new in the EISCAT community and are attracted by the measurements capabilities that the new system will offer.

Splinter discussions were organized on data management and instrumental design and also a meeting of representatives of the EISCAT host institutions took place.

The presentations of the workshop can now be found on the web:
